Sup. I don’t offer music on Rapidshare or similar services because I can’t be assed, but because of this, some idiots might suffer, as they might feel it’s too time consuming to download my hardstyle offerings. So I’ve decided to post a quick ‘how-to’ on mass downloading music from the site, which is particularly effective for downloading entire albums.

The first requirement is that you’re using Firefox, and if you aren’t I hate you. If you don’t have it, grab it at: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/.

Secondly, you’re going to need to grab Downthemall!, which is an extension for Firefox that acts as a more advanced download manager, and gives you greater flexibility in choosing your downloads. Afters you’ve downloaded Firefox, you can get Downthemall! here:

Once you’ve got them both and restarted Firefox to activate Downthemall!, you need to create a custom ‘filter’. Downthemall! has built in filters for images and videos, but not music files. In Firefox, head up to Tools > Downthemall > Preferences. Once you’re in there, press the Filters button, and then press the Add New Filter button. For the Caption textbox, type Music or MP3 or something similar. This is the name of the filter. In the File Extension textbox, add .mp3. After you’ve done this, press okay to exit the preferences window.

Once you’ve done that, Downthemall! is set up and ready to download music files.

Next time you’re at a directory listing and want to download all the music files inside, right click anywhere and select the Downthemall!… option. This should bring up another window. This window contains all downloadable elements on the current page. To download only the .mp3 files, under Inclusive Filters, the name of the filter you just created should be there, and all you need to do is simply tick the box, and all .mp3 files should be selected and ready to download. Press the OK button and your music files should begin downloading.
